Polar Cape moves to new office

Polar Cape's first two and half years in business has been a veritable success story - we have grown by over 400%! Consequently we have outgrown our office facilities. Now, we proudly announce or move to our new office on Tegnérgatan in Stockholm. This new office gives us larger conference rooms and more desks for our consultants and will provide a much more stimulating working environment.

Polar Cape donating to Min Stora Dag

Besides supporting SOS Barnbyar since our company was founded, we have decided to extend our support to another organization focusing on helping children. This year, we're proud to support Min Stora Dag.
Min Stora Dag is a Swedish foundation that helps very ill children in hospitals around Sweden to fulfill their dreams.
Every year, several hundreds of children fall ill in very serious, sometimes terminal diagnoses. Min Stora Dag aims to help these children in their everyday struggle by giving them something to dream about and to hope for, that can be achieved. Examples of arrangements are concerts, meeting their idols or enabling a family vacation.

Min Stora Dag is organising a charity race on Mantorp on 2012-09-16. Watch out for the Polar Cape logo on one of the cars! The cars will also be shown at a car fair in Kungsträdgården between 21-23 September.

Expanding in Mobile Payments

Polar Cape will soon begin helping a new customer in Stockholm in the Mobile Payments business. This is an expanding and cutting edge business area and we are happy to be able to contribute to the success of our new customer via our knowledge and expertise in Quality Assurance, mobile platforms, and billing.

Polar Cape opens Macedonia office

Polar Cape proudly presents our Macedonia office. The office is located in a new building in central Skopje. In February this year, the office was fully renovated according to the needs of a modern software development center. It was opened in March for our consultants. The office is 143 m², and is equipped with a high speed internet connection and video conference equipment. The office is already actively in use by our developers, testers, and administration staff.

The new office will help Polar Cape to support our customers' projects with its excellent communications facilities and provide a great working environment for our employees in Skopje.

Polar Cape to attend Sweden-Macedonia Business and Investment Forum.

Polar Cape are proud to announce our participation in the Sweden-Macedonia Business and Investment Forum on June 4th. The forum will be arranged by The Stockholm Embassy of the Republic of Macedonia and the Swedish Trade Council, and Polar Cape are invited to talk aboout our experience with our off-shoring to Macedonia. Other participants in the forum are, amongst others, Mr. Nikola Gruevski (President of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia), Dr. Ewa Björling (Sweden Minister of Trade) and Mr. Ulf Berg (CEO of Swedish Trade Council).

Polar Cape assigns Application and Release Manager at large bus company.

Polar Cape is supporting a major European bus company in managing their application and systems support team. The assignment involves managing budget, HR, operation support, development projects and monitoring. We are also introducing a relelase manager role to the company, and are assisting in the introduction of ITIL.

New recruitment in Q1 2012

Polar Cape continues recruitment, and wishes four new employees welcome in Q1 2012. Our new employees will strengthen our expertise in requirement analysis, system administration and system architecture to mention some specific knowledge areas.
We have also engaged a full time dedicated sales manager to increase our efforts in PR, market analysis, sales and recruitment.

Polar Cape is proud to be mentioned in Infobuild's news letter from January 2012. The news letter describes the advantages of the collaboration between Polar Cape, Infobuild (www.infobuild.se) and Informatiom Builders Inc. (www.informationbuilders.com), where the companies' service portfolios and product portfolios complement each other very well. During 2012, we will intensify our collaboration with several shared projects.

Polar Cape to manage IT Outsourcing Project

In Q4 Polar Cape will project manage the outsourcing of IT infrastructure and Application Management for a new customer. Polar Cape will manage the requirements definition phase, oversee the handover to the outsourcing partner, and implement necessary process changes to realise major cost savings for our customer while maintaining quality in the IT support services.

Exciting new integration project

Polar Cape together with one of our partners has been invited to implement a proof of concept for a major new integration platform for an existing customer, a leading Swedish vehicle manufacturer. The project is part of a new IT architecture initiative to improve information sharing across a critical part of the sales chain. Polar Cape is providing Project Management for the proof of concept phase.

Polar Cape to present at Information Builders Nordic Summit.

One of Polar Cape's partners, Information Builders (www.informationbuilders.com), is having a Nordic Summit on 13 October - a 1 day event at Nordic Light Hotel, Stockholm. They will be presenting about their focus areas: Business Intelligence and Enterprise Information Management - and specifically MDM and Data Governance.

Polar Cape supports UNICEF in Horn of Africa aid effort.

Polar Cape traditionally makes a donation to a chosen charity at christmas time every year. However, due to the current crisis in the Horn of Africa, we have decided to make a donation immediately, on behalf of our employees, since the need is so acute. Our hearts beat for the children of the world so we decided to support UNICEF. UNICEF has a good record for getting aid to those who need it most.

Polar Cape Sailing Day

Polar Cape took a well earned day of relaxation and spent the day sailing in the Stockholm archipelago. We stopped at Ekholmen for an excellent barbeque lunch before sailing back to Vaxholm. It was a beautiful day and a good time was had by all!
